Vintage - The 2008 vintage was a surprise package. It must have been the best and earliest vintage yet. And for all the right reasons, all fruit was physiologically ripe. Recent recipient of a Bronze Medal at the Royal Easter Show.
Appearance - Bright medium gold colour.
Aroma - Distinctive melon and peach aromatics with oak spice. Good oak integration.
Palate - Flavoursome, clean, fresh fruit flavours with just a hint of fruit sweetness. Balanced oak and acidity make for a full bodied wine with fruit/oak vibrancy.
Cellaring - Enjoy this while young, but keep some for 3 - 5 years to see how the wine complexes with time.
Serving - Best presented at 10 - 15 C for overall enjoyment
Food Accompaniments - All types of game bird dishes, meatier flavoured fish, salads and chicken dishes. Other white meats will suit the wine as well.
The '08 Chardonnay received a 4-star review from Yvonne Marie Lorkin on 9 May 2009 - check it out by clicking here.
